Members present: Joe Campanella, Ken Russell, Rick Catt & Mayor Randy Rich
The committee discussed the request from Mediacom for a renewal of their franchise
agreement with the Village. It was agreed to provide a 4-month public notice
of their proposal as per the Communications Act of 1934. It was also agreed
that the renewal amount should provide for a minimum franchise fee of 3.0%
of annual gross revenues.
The committee then discussed the Butch Knicley property. Mr. Knicley’s
attorney, Roy Dent, had emailed Trustee Catt asking if the Village would
accept a deed in lieu of foreclosure from the Knicley’s. He later indicated
that Aldrich Realty had received an offer for the purchase of the property
located at 112 West Main Street. The offer was for $8,000 from Greg & Pam
Baker. The committee agreed to reject the offer and accept the Knicley’s
proposal to quit claim deed the property to the Village. Catt will contact
Village Attorney Frank Weber to prepare the proper paperwork to complete
this transaction as soon as possible. Once the property is titled to the
Village, a value will determined and the property will be sold in an effort
to recoup the loss to the Village Revolving Loan Fund.
